Can I leave my luggage before check-in?
Most hotels will hold your bags even before the official check-in time — just ask at the front desk, and it's usually free.
Japanese hotels will generally store your luggage even if you arrive before the standard check-in time (often around 3pm), as long as you ask at the front desk.
Storage itself is normally free, but it's best to keep valuables with you rather than in checked bags.
Most hotels tag your bags with your name and give you a claim ticket — show that ticket when you pick your bags up.
